St Peter’s IPA (ABV 5.5%) 32 pint beer kit
Originally produced to quench the thirst of British troops in the 1800's, IPA (India Pale Ale) was brewed highly-hopped and robust to survive the long voyage to the Indian sub-continent.
Using the same quality ingredients of St Peter’s IPA, this premium beer kit includes a hop sachet to improve aroma and taste, and makes 432pints of top quality beer from 3 kg of best malted barley. No additional sugar required, although it is recommended that a small amount of light spray malt is used for priming.
Brewery-developed beer-making kits have traditionally been very popular with home brew makers as it generates a great sense of satisfaction to be able to make a well known beer at home, which is just as good as the pint bought down the pub. With this in mind, St Peter’s are working together with Muntons, the maltsters and beer kit makers, to develop their very own range of beer kits.
St Peter's Hall, near Bungay in Suffolk, dates from around 1280 and is the centerpiece of the St Peter's Brewery site. In 1539 the east wing was added using materials from the nearby Flixton nunnery, which was one of a dozen monastic houses given to Cardinal Wolsey by King Henry VIII to finance the building of a school in Ipswich. Then, as today, Suffolk barley was carefully malted to brew beers and ales, and that tradition lives on today at St Peter's Brewery.

- Fantastic ale!
This is the first brew after a 20+ year break from home brewing. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The resulting beer is surprisingly clear, good hoppy flavour with none of that home brew taste, a great head. One to try again!
