Product Description
Gervin No.2 - Red Label - Strain GV2.
This French strain is very vigorous but produces little foam. It is particularly good for red table wines, especially when a full-bodied wine is required. It is recommended for making wines from such autumn fruits as blackberries, elderberries and sloes. This yeast contains a "killer" factor, which may help to discourage any sensitive wild strains.
Gervin yeasts have been selected from the active dried yeasts currently available to commercial winemakers, and exhaustively tested to ensure that they will perform well under the conditions used by amateur winemakers. The wines that each yeast produces has been evaluated by members of the National Guild of Wine and Beer judges. The yeasts are sealed in triple foil sachets under nitrogen or carbon dioxide gas to ensure a long shelf life.
